DekLights® Limited Warranty

DekLights® guarantees that its outdoor lighting products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship starting from the original date of purchase.
Product-Specific Coverage (to the original purchaser only):

All Pro-Line 12 volt lighted post caps with 100% pure acrylic (Plexiglas) lenses come with a lifetime warranty. LED bulbs on all 12 volt caps and fixtures (replaceable): 1 year or 3,000 hours of operation, whichever occurs first.

  • Light sockets and fixture housings (on all Pro-Line fixtures): Lifetime, but must use gel-filled connectors to prevent wire lead corrosion.

  • Solar powered caps have a 1 year warranty for full repair or replacement at no cost. After 1 year, customer may send cap back for a refurbish service, which will replace all solar parts for a reasonable fee of $20-$35 (depending on solar cap) plus shipping.

  • DIY Line 12 volt products have a standard 3 year warranty on caps and fixtures, and a 1 year on replaceable LED bulbs

  • Bronze-Tone finish, Black Texture finish, Copper-Tone finish, Stainless Steel Finish 2 years from purchase date. Do not use harsh chemicals to clean. Treat like you would your car’s finish. Soapy water and rinse.

Important Notes and Exclusions:

  • We strongly recommend pairing DekLights® fixtures with a good quality 12 volt power supply or landscape transformer. Do not use power supplies or transformers that put out a voltage higher than 12.8 volts, as this will damage our 12 volt replaceable LED bulbs.

  • Natural patina development on brass or copper surfaces is a normal process and is not considered a defect; it is not covered by this warranty.

  • This warranty does not cover damage to plants or vegetation caused by prolonged exposure to light. Certain plants (such as acid-loving varieties like arborvitae or pines) require periods of darkness for natural rest and photosynthesis—continuous illumination beyond approximately 18 hours per day may harm them, and this is not a product defect.

How to Make a Claim: The original purchaser must return the allegedly defective product or component to DekLights®. Include proof of purchase (receipt or invoice), your full name, return shipping address, and a detailed description of the issue. If DekLights®, in its sole judgment, determines the product is defective under this warranty, we will—at our discretion—repair, replace, or refund the product (prorated for prior use where applicable), at no additional charge to you. Repaired or replaced items will be shipped back to you with prepaid freight, or a refund will be issued as appropriate. This warranty does not cover labor costs, removal, reinstallation, or any other incidental expenses related to defective, repaired, or replaced products.

Scope and Limitations: This warranty applies solely to the original purchaser and is non-transferable (including to subsequent owners or heirs). It becomes void if ownership of the product changes hands or if the product is no longer owned by the original purchaser.

Coverage does not extend to products that have been:

  • Misused, mishandled, or improperly applied

  • Connected to voltage outside the standard North American range.

  • Exposed to extreme conditions (e.g., average annual ambient temperatures below 27°F or above 105°F)

  • Neglected, improperly maintained, or installed contrary to DekLights® instructions

  • Damaged by accidents, acts of nature (e.g., high winds), improper packaging during return, unauthorized modifications, or use of non-approved parts/attachments

Exposure to harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, saltwater, or salt-laden air will void coverage for exterior finishes.

General Provisions: THIS WARRANTY PROVIDES YOU WITH SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY HAVE OTHER RIGHTS THAT VARY BY STATE OR PROVINCE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT PERMIT LIMITATIONS ON THE DURATION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR THE EXCLUSION/LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS THE COMPLETE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY OFFERED BY DEKLIGHTS®. IT REPLACES ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING (BUT NOT LIMITED TO) WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.IN NO EVENT SHALL DEKLIGHTS® BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING (WITHOUT LIMITATION) LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, PROMOTIONAL EXPENSES, OVERHEAD COSTS, REPUTATIONAL HARM, OR LOSS OF CUSTOMERS.
